Welcome to the (Pet) Hotel California

My mom keeps saying our house smells like a breeders place (whatever that means) because we have four dogs staying at the house this Christmas season. My Uncles Dewey and Cody have been staying at our place since before Christmas. They are staying past the new year too. We have been having so much fun. We hang out all day. I let Dewey take over my large dog pillow. And they are nice enough to share their big boy water bowl with us. There is something about drinking out of a big boy bowl that makes it taste so good. My mom and dad take all four of us for a walk at the same time. My mom says she hates it, but she's a good sport.

My new cousin Willy came over to visit today. We had such a good time playing together. He's a good looking dude. But I just received word from my Aunt Amanda that they are going to have to take Willy back to his breeder because he has too many health issues. My mom and dad feel really lucky that we are such healthy Buggs (except for my cherry eye episode of course). We are all so sad that Willy had to go away. This one goes out to you Willy...

Here's a video of Molly and Willy at play...

And a slide show of my escapades with my homeboys...

Molly Made It!!

Mission accomplished!!! I taught my sister how to scale my wall in the garden. It certainly wasn't easy. She was a bit tentative, but I reassured her she would make it. After much trial and error, she found a way to make it up. Now she runs like a crazy woman around my garden. I just hope she doesn't find all the bones I hid in there!

Buggs in booties

Oh man, my mom and Aunt Kelly bought these ducky booties for me and they made me wear them. Have you ever tried to walk in big ducky booties? It's really tough. I'm a pretty good sport, so I just went along with it, but Molly was more interested in eating those booties. Ugh, kids...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Molly and I are geared up for the holidays. We have our winter coats/sweaters ready to go. My Hal and grandma Laura, plus Aunt Amanda and Uncle Pup were here to celebrate an early Christmas. So, of course, my Dewey and Cody were here. That's the greatest Christmas present of all!

Digging Bugs

As you all know, I am an expert digger. I hate to say it, but I've ruined a lawn or two in my life. But, I've figured out a way to just dig inside the planter boxes so my mom and dad don't find my masterpiece. Molly can'at quite get up into the planter, so I've had to teach her how to dig on the lawn. Sorry dad!! As you can see, there is circumstantial evidence (my mom says that a lot in her work...whatever that is) that Molly and I are the culprits...just look at the dirt on our mugs. I've even got some in my teeth. Yum!

Shhhh...

Shhh...don't tell my brother, but I'm going to give this blogging a try. I see Bugsy updating this blog and I keep thinking, I'm a big girl now, I can do this too.

My mom and dad put up this thing called a Christmas tree today, whatever that is. I'll just die if I can't get my paws on one of those shiny ornament things. But my mom and dad hung them too high for me to reach. Maybe I can coax Bugsy into grabbing one for me? We are, afterall, becomming partners in crime! I'll let you know how it goes. That is, if I can sneak back on this computer without my brother finding out.

These Bugs are Beat!

We have had a constant stream of visitors this week and we are BEAT!! My great grandpa John came in this past Tuesday and we have kept him entertained. I like him a lot, but when he decides to give Molly some attention, I make sure to move in there to remind him that I'm here. Then the whole family got here for Thanksgiving--my Hal, grandma Laura, grandma and grandpa Sobek, Uncle Randy, the McKeevers and Aunt Diane. I did my best to pay equal amounts attention to each one of them. But there is only so much Bug to go around.
My dad's friend Audrey came to visit too, so you can see that I have been non-stop all week. Molly and I are going to sleep all weekend, I'm sure. I'm BEAT!

Rub a dub dub

As you know, I am a fan of the bubbles....so, I decided to introduce my new sister to my favorite evening pasttime. She picked it up pretty nicely, actually. I've been spending much of my time teaching her the ropes. She already mastered the dog door and the stairs. I've been teaching her my route for my evening walks. There's only one thing that drives me crazy...she steals my raw hides right out of my mouth. I've got to put a stop to that!!

Buggy Bath Time

Today, I helped my parents give Molly a bath...her very first at home. I remember when my parents gave me a bath in that sink. Where has the time gone?

Big Brother

It's a tough job being a big brother. I have so much ground to cover with Molly. Luckily, I think we have the dog door down. She's pretty tiny but she has no fear jumping through that thing. She is better at it than my Chelsea! She chases me around and steals the occassional rawhide from my mouth, but I'll be patient with her. Patience is a virtue, whatever that means!

It's a good thing she is too small to jump up on the couches, because I can jump up real fast and taunt her when she really wants to chase me. But, she gets back at me when she ducks underneath my parent's bed. Oh man, she crawls under there and swings a paw at me, and tries to get me to chase her. But I'm just not as nimble as she is when it comes to that bed.

So far so good. My parents assure me I am up to the task of being Big Brother.

I've got a Sister

Hey Guys, its me, Bugsy. I'm happy to report I am now a brother. My Dad picked up my new sister in Colton tonight. Unfortunatley my Mom is in San Diego, so she hasn't even seen my new sister in person yet. My Dad isn't very good at taking pictures of me and my new sister (oh yah, I forgot, her name is Molly), so he'll get some better ones this weekend. And the best thing about my new sister is that she is a Bugg like me. Can you believe it?!

Her mom was a Bugg, and her Dad was a Boston Terrier. So I guess that makes her 3 quarters Boston Terrier and 1/4 pug. She's got a little brindle in her coloring, but mostly she looks like a normal Boston Terrier. She sure is fun, we played so hard both of us passed right out. It will be a lot of fun showing her the ropes. I'll take her threw my garden, show her how to crawl under the covers at nighttime and under the bed. Plus I'll also show her how great walks are. I can't wait to play with her some more.

Maybe I'll have to change the name of my Dlog to Hey, this is Bugsy and Molly's Dlog. We'll see, I'm still working on some creative titles. Anyway, I'm pretty tired now, so I better go. I'll have my Dad post some more pictures later. Bye now.

Most popular bug in the neighborhood

I had the best night on Halloween. Every time the doorbell would ring, I would circle around in front of the door. My dad would pick me up and my mom would grab the bowl of candy. The neighborhood kids were dressed in costumes and take some of my candy. All the kids would say, "Oh look, its Bugsy." I am so popular!

To cap the night off, my uncles Dewey and Cody came to visit. That was the greatest treat of all!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween my loyal fans! I decided to wear my Halloween hoody tonight for when I go toilet papering with my buddies. I've got to avoid detection, you know?? Got to go greet the trick or treaters....I live for it

Bubble Bug

The one thing I love even more than my panty hose is my bubbles! Sometimes I'll visit my mom when she is taking her nightly bath and yell at her until she gives me some bubbles. I can't get enough.

The Smell of Football (and Dogs) in the Air!

Greetings Trojans fans! Imagine my surprise when my Hal brought Dewey and Cody to see me this weekend. I was just minding my own business on a lazy Friday afternoon, when all of the sudden, my buddies came running in the door. Oh happy day. I understand my uncles will be here every weekend there is a home game--whatever that means. But all I do know is that I am so excited. I don't know what I did to deserve it, but I am having so much fun. This is a picture of me with my Uncle Dewey. Cody isn't in the picture because he had to escape from me for just a few minutes to a pest/Bug free environment. But who would ever need a break from me??!!

Hard day to be a Trojan fan...

So my mom came home the other day and found my dad and me, in front of the TV, in matching USC shirts. She said, "That is the cutest thing I have ever seen...my boys!" You know moms, they are all gushy and stuff like that. Women!! Anyway, my dad and I watched the game on Thursday and we wanted to turn it off it was so bad. My dad says these shirts are bad luck so we aren't allowed to wear them ever again. That's a shame, cause I look really cute. My uncles Dewey and Cody will be here for the game this weekend. I won't be wearing my shirt...

Making up for lost time...

I have had quite an action packed week. I was pretty sad when my Uncles Dewey and Cody left me, but before I even knew it, my grandma Carol was at the door. I couldn't even believe it. She came all this way just to visit me?? We cleaned up the house as usual and I just stayed right by grandma's side the whole time. All good things come to an end, and so it is when my grandma left. But the highlight of the weekend came when I got to visit my girlfriend Chelsea. We hung out all day, chasing each other, tugging at toys, and laying around the house. It's true what they--absence makes the heart grow fonder. Being away from my Chelsea is tough, but we take advantage of every minute we have together.

Anyway, I have been so busy lately with my visitors, that I haven't been able to give my new GIANT loofa toy the attention it deserves. I am definitely making up for lost time. I'll show that loofa who's boss!! I didn't even know my mom was taping me!

Best vacation of my life...

I guess all good things come to an end, and my two week vacation to Las Vegas was a GOOD thing. My parents went out of town so I got to go to my Hal's house and my grandma Laura's house. Man, I just had the best time. Cody is my best friend. I followed him around all day and all night. I didn't want to miss one minute of the action. Dewey lets me walk all over him and occassionally growls to tell me I'm being a pest. But Cody and I can go all day!! We tugged apart seven stuffed animals. I licked his chops the majority of our time together. I feel like one of the big boys when I'm with my uncles, Dewey and Cody. My parents tell me that my Uncles are going to visit us every time USC plays football here...whatever that means. I'm jazzed.

My Uncles left almost 12 hours ago and I have been passed out ever since. I'm exhausted. I have been non-stop for 2 weeks. I even fell asleep in my mom's arms like a baby. I'll have to catch up on my zzzz's before my Uncles' next visit. Bye now...

That's What Friends Are For...

My parents let my buddy, Longfellow, stay the whole week and man, what a week it was!! We were non-stop...taking turns bitting each other's excess neck skin, racing around the house, tugging back and forth on my toys. We took some naps with my Dad and even watched my new dog movie my parents bought me. Longfellow is cool and all, but he kept peeing in my parents house. I tried to work on it with him, but a Bug can't create miracles, you know!!

My aunt Emily came to stay with me this weekend while my parents were at my aunt Amanda's wedding. So many visitors! I told you I was popular.

I hear I'll be making a trip next week to visit my Hal. My Hal tells me he bought me a loofa dog that is bigger than I am. Oh Man!!

I'm Number One

Well, my suspicions are confirmed...I am the best in my agility class. Just call me Michael Phelps!! On the eve on my dad's birthday, I ran the fastest time on my agility track at 53 seconds. Okay, okay, you got me...I was deducted 5 seconds for jumping off the teeter totter too early, but I was just so excited. That means everyone else in my class was eating my dust. My dad and I booked it!! See the below video to re-live my championship moment...

I think I will take more agility classes, seeing that I am practically a natural. And I have to say, I was the most popular competitor this season. I had several visitors: my great grandpa John, my grandma and grandpa Duke and Carol, and my dad's secretary Sandy. I really put the Bugg breed on the map, huh?

Here is a compilation of shots from this year's class, including some of my favorite fellow competitors, and of course, my trophy. The first of many I'm sure...Now if only I could convince my parents to feed me the type of breakfast that Michael Phelps eats each day.

What a week...

I don't know what I did to deserve this, but I am having the best week. My grandma is here because she is on vacation from school. We have been doing so much together. My mom calls her a merry maid, whatever that means. We mopped my new tile floors, squeegeed the patio door windows, dusted all surfaces, and cleaned up the grill. We did some serious gardening too. Of course, my grandma has cooked up a storm too. I've been right there in the kitchen to supervise the preparation, since I am well versed from all my watching of the Food Network with my grandpa Hal.

Anyway, I understand my grandma and grandpa are going to come watch me at agility class on Thursday. Meanwhile, I will continue to gouge out the eyeballs of this Lobster my parents brought me from Boston. It's practically a carcass now. Yum!

I'm nearly competition ready!

That's right...I'm getting pretty darn good at this agility thing. I am even beginning to go parts of the course on my own. I'm practically the valedictorian of my class!

Just one of the boys...

Damn, life is good as a bachelor! My uncle Randy and I hung out all week, when my parents and grandparents went on vacation in Boston. Camlo and Mikey came over too. We BBQ'd hamburgers, watched 100s of hours of baseball, gambled online, and just hung out during the day. I would have liked to gamble some more, but my parents simply don't give me a big enough allowance. I wrestled with my Uncle Mikey, too. My aunt Dutchess was the odd woman out, since she was surrounded by all us macho men. My grandpa said she is glad to be rid of me. I just don't get it though...all I want to do is play. I'm usually so irresistable!

Anyway, my mom and dad said they had a great trip. I'm glad to be back at my own pad now, since my grandma doesn't have a dog door. I like the freedom to come and go as I please. I'm a big boy now, afterall.

I hope I get to hang out with my homeboys again someday. They're coo', you know?! Gotta go...I have another agility class.

Another eventful weekend...

Once again, I had a full social calendar this weekend. We went to San Diego to see my grandma and grandpa, Uncle Randy, and of course, my aunt Dutchess. My aunt Dutchess has so many babies; I took all 8 out and spread them out all over the house. I even tore one of them to shreds. It's awfully nice of her to let me play with all her toys. Of course, she is much older now and doesn't seem too interested in them anyway. She isn't interested in me either!
But my grandma has the best garden. I could play there all day. I scale the hill and smell all her flowers. I bark at the occassional passer by. It's a good life in San Diego. My parents tell me that my uncle Randy is going to be my roommate next week, since they will be in Boston with grandma and grandpa. So, I'm guessing I'll probably spend the week gambling, watching baseball on TV and playing video games. I'm pretty pumped! Until then...

I could do these obstacles in my sleep...

I had my second agility class today and man, I am getting really good. I hardly need a running start to get over those hurdles. And I was jumping over the hurdles at the same height that the big dogs were jumping over. My new favorite friend is the Italian Mastif in the class. My whole body is about the size of his head, but he and I are just alike. He likes to roll around on his back too. I licked his chops and sniffed his butt and now we're best buddies. Here is some more footage of my escapades today...

Snug as a Bug

Oh man, I have had such a busy life lately. I'm beat! First, I think the construction at the house is finally complete. Carpet guys, tile layers, and plumbers in and out...it wears on you when you are tasked with guarding the house.
Then I had my great grandpa here, plus my grandma and grandpa and uncle Randy. My parents have had me practicing my agility training all week. I'm getting pretty good but man, I just can't get enough sleep lately. I'm like my mom!
I understand we are going to San Diego this weekend to visit my aunt Dutchess. I better catch my zzz's so I don't miss one moment of my visit. Pleasant dreams...
