The most wonderful time of the year!

Well, the Buggs were remembered generously in the gift department this year: Pupcorn from Sandy, stuffed toys (already gutted) from my Hal, Christmas loofas from mom and dad. plus a bed and blankets from my Grandma Carol. Brandon got a bunch of gifts that look pretty enticing to me too. It sure was fun to have so many visitors throughout the day, but man, are we ever pooped!

Sweater Weather

Its the most wonderful time of the year, but why do we have to wear these ugly Christmas sweaters? I mean its cold and all, but can't we get a nice jogging suit or something? I like Christmas...there is a stuffed snowman in the living room I have my eye on. Molly already gutted a snowman pillow. But why did my mom have to put a fence around the tree? There was no fence last year and Molly and I only ripped into a few presents. There just happened to be one piece of chocolate in one gift among at least two dozen gifts and we managed to find it. I guess underneath these sweaters lie some superpowers!

Molly's Public Service Announcement

Hello, my name is Molly, and I'm an addict. The first step is admitting it! As you may have heard, I "overdosed" on my mom's blood pressure medication this week. My mom left her meds on the kitchen table and I was desperate for my next fix, so I went on up there and tore into that bottle. Bugsy had never used before so I pressured him into it. We both took a hit and my mom found us an hour later. It was not my finest moment--I was non responsive, lethargic and basically catatonic. My family had to conduct an intervention immediately. They took us to the vet and we had to induce vomit...the drugs were out and I was already jonesing for my next fix. Bugsy was fine, but I had to go to medical detox--the product of many years of addiction. I had to be on an IV and be monitored overnight. They always say an addict has to hit rock bottom before they are prepared to quit. Just say no to drugs!!!

Buggs and their brother

We always knew I was going to be the best big brother but man, I'm a better brother than we ever dreamed! When my brother Brandon does "tummy time"--whatever that is--I sit right next to him to give him encouragement. And when my mom takes the three of us kids for our afternoon walk, I'm always careful never to walk too far ahead. My little brother is pretty cool I guess. I mean because of him my mom gets to stay home with us all day everyday. Its the best! I just wish he didn't wake me up so darn early. Us Buggs need our beauty sleep.

Football is in the air

It's a tough season for USC fans. Every weekend, the boys--me, dad, and Brandon (oh yeah, Molly too)--gather round the TV for the big game. Better yet, if its a home game my Hal comes to stay with us. I just love it when he's here, although Molly is cramping my style because she wants to sleep with my Hal too!

If you recall, I'm not allowed to wear my USC shirt anymore because it was bad luck last season. Now my brother isn't allowed to wear his USC bib because the team is doing so bad this season. We'll have to mix things up a bit...I just love the pigskin (no really, could I please have a pigs ear?)

Molly's first Halloween

Another great Halloween!! As my loyal readers are aware, I just love Halloween. I mean, when else does the door bell ring time and time again...I, of course, have to run to the door to greet those kids dressed in strange outfits. Every time the door would ring, I'd circle around and around the living room to make sure my mom got to the door. Molly and I were quite popular in our pumpkin shirts. If I could pass out candy, I would! (Molly already ate a Snickers) We had about 75 kids to the house, so Molly and I are pooped. Oh yeah, so is our little Brother, Brandon...he was the third puppy in the house this year

The newest Bugg in the family--Brandon

Grandma came to visit us this Halloween

Family Nap Hour

I have to say, ever since this baby came home with my parents, we have been taking some great family naps. My mom or dad will be sleeping with Brandon and Molly and I just fit ourselves wherever we can to be a part of the action. Sometimes both of us Buggs will sleep between my mom's legs while Brandon is on her chest. Or I will wedge my body up against my dads while Molly perches from a couch cushion. I, of course, have to be as close as possible to this baby at all times. I'm always there to help!

Hey, I'm excited about the baby too!

I had to sneak on the computer to bust into Bugsy's blog because I feel the last posting was one-sided. I am just as curious about Brandon. I'm downright excited!! My maternal instincts have kicked in. I stand up and peek into the pack-n-play to make sure he's okay. I give his small feet sweet kisses to let him know I care. I'm always at my mom's side in case she needs me to step in. I love Brandon too.

Who is this new guy in my house?

My mom and dad brought home this thing they call a baby today. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. I checked things out and as far as I can tell, this little guy smells pretty good, makessweet noises, and feels awfully soft. I think most of you would say that about me!! Here are a few photos of my first day with Brandon. My parents will try to ease Molly into the routine too. I think someday we will be just like "My Dog Skip."

Friday, September 4, 2009

Well, my mom says that her doctor told her to be on bed rest until our baby brother comes, so that means we get to spend some good quality time with mom. It's so great...we never have to be alone during the day, and she is always here to snuggle. I know you think we Buggs are crazy all day, but we really do spend most of the day napping. When Molly sleeps, sometimes her eyes look open and her tongue sticks out. Scary!! Not me...just the occassional underbite shot during a nice nap!!

Weekend at Grandma's

Molly and I went to San Diego this weekend to visit my grandma and grandpa. For the first time, my Aunt Dutchess actually tolerated our presence. She was interested in us and the two of us are good buddies now. Molly is still a little too high energy for Dutchess...she's old you know?! Molly went in the pool and spent most the day in my grandma's garden. I went out occassionally to sun bathe and check out the new plantings. My grandpa had just scattered new fertilizer, so it was like dog heaven!! We're back home now, and we are both exhausted. That drive back from San Diego wore us out. Can't wait for our next trip to grandma's...next weekend!

Molly Bugg entertains herself

Molly is such a show off. She really tosses this thing around and gets quite aggressive. I'm not really "food motivated" as my trainer says...just love motivated!!! Dad says he wants to put Molly on his soccer team after seeing these moves. What about me dad??!!

That Molly is so crazy. She has no fear. She just goes after those sprinklers. As for me, I'll admit it, I'm afraid of just about everything. That's part of my charm, isn't it loyal fans??

Bugg Nap

We're making good progress here...a few months ago, I couldn't lay this closely to Molly without her attacking me. This is the life!

Getting ready for baby is EXHAUSTING!!

It has been crazy lately for us Buggs, getting ready for this darn baby. I can hardly stay up to update my Blog. We finally got the room done, but there is still more to do. I'll tell you though, as my mom comes home from these things she calls a shower, she sure seems to bring in some neato toys that I will definitely enjoy stealing from this baby. I mean, why does this baby get his own toys? We share in this house! There are a few teething toys I have my eye on too.

You will be pleased to know that Molly and I got a glowing review from our trainer. Molly hasn't attacked me in awhile and we play together very nicely. We are star pupils!!! So now, we really are ready for this baby. I hope...

All in a day's work...

Hey loyal readers! I know it's been awhile, but man, this Bugg has been busy. My grandma and grandpa came up this weekend so we could paint my new baby brother's room. I can't bear to be apart from my grandpa when he is here, so I had to be right up next to him when he was painting. As you can see, I brushed right up against the wall and got paint on my fur. I was just trying to add some texture!! I'm pretty helpful actually.

Anyway, the room looks real good, I guess. I just want to know why baby Brandon gets his own room when baby Bugsy never got his own? I'm just asking...seems kind of unfair to me. My mom and dad sure do spend a lot of time getting ready for this baby.

BTW, what IS a baby anyway?

Leader of the Pack

Most of you already know that things are a changing in my house. Molly has been attacking me lately and my mom says things are very stressful, whatever that means. My parents are keeping us separated at all times, so that's really tough. Plus, I hate it when it's my day to stay in the cage while Molly gets to roam around.
My parents hired a private trainer to set us straight and can you believe she has the nerve to say I am actually the dominant one?? Yeah, my jumping on you when you come to the door, my jumping on your lap so you can pet me, my bringing toys to you so we can play....all dominance. I guess I am passive aggressive like my mom. I have you all right where I want you!

So, Molly has to wear a muzzle when we are together and things are heating up in here. My mom keeps saying things need to change before the baby comes. What's this talk about this baby? I never agreed to that!!

Any suggestions?

Diva Bugg

My friend Julie gave me this Juicy Couture velour hoodie that reads "My Dog is cuter than your dog." It fits me like a glove. What can I say, couture brings out the diva in me!! I'm practically America's Next Top Model.

Buggs for adoption...

Oh man, Molly and I are in so much trouble. You know, as latch key kids, it's really hard to be home alone all day and we get really bored. Yeah, it's an excuse, but it's the truth. The other day, mom came home and couldn't believe her eyes. Molly and I dug up a plant in the backyard and brought it inside. We shook it out and dirt was flying everywhere. It covered the carpet, the couch, the tile. I have to tell you, there is nothing quite like the smell of fresh soil. I feel bad and everything because it took my parents a long time to clean it up, but it sure was fun while it lasted. It even broke the vacuum. Mom says we better wise up because she doesn't have the energy for us...oh come on mom, how can you resist this under bite?!

Hawaiian Buggs

My mom and dad tell me they are taking a trip to Hawaii soon, although I think I am getting the better deal since I get to go visit my Hal when they are away. I just love visiting my Hal and my Uncles Dewey and Cody. But having Molly come along may cramp my style. We'll see. In the meantime, Molly and I are feeling festive in our Hawaiian attire. Unfortunately, Molly was not feelin that grass skirt, so mom put it around her neck instead of her tummy. Molly's just got to learn to go with the flow man. Let loose like Bugsy. Hang ten!

Sprinkler fun

Oh man, my sister Molly is really crazy. As soon as the sprinklers come on, she runs out there to get a mouth full. My mom and dad think she's really funny. Whatever...I can be funny too!

We are obedient!

It was time for Molly to take her obedience class, so I decided to take the class once again to fine tune my skills. I have to admit, I was probably the best in the class, often used as the example actually. Of course, I am a veteran! Here's a video of some of the skills I learned...

This pit bull puppy was my nemesis in the class. I always growled at her just to show her who was boss (and the best student). I have small dog complex I guess...at least that's what my mom says! Even though we mastered the beginning obedience class, we weren't all that obedient in taking this picture!

Dog Days of Summer???

Oh man, is it ever hot! Molly and I hang out in the garden most of the day, but it is getting too hot for us Buggs. You know, we short snouted dogs have a hard time in extreme heat. It's a good thing we have that dog door so we can get some relief. I guess the dog days of summer are around the corner, huh?

Road Trip Buggs

We went on a road trip this weekend to see My Hal in Las Vegas. I've made the trip several times, but this was Molly's first out of state venture. My mom keeps telling me that Molly was the best road tripper because she was content to sit in the back seat and sleep. Not me. I need to be in on the action. I either have to be on the lap of the front passenger (I would prefer to sit on the driver's lap but I'm not one to break the law!) or I have to climb to the very back to investigate what's going on outside. If I don't get my way, I whine and whine. I'm a master manuipulator you know!

Mud Buggs

Molly and I have discovered the most fun EVER...all day, we wait for the sprinklers to come on in the back yard. Then, we take off like crazy buggs through the water. But yesterday Molly took it to a new level. She rolled around in the mud and tracked it inside. I mean, she got that mud everywhere. My mom was so mad! Molly was covered in it. Her face was caked with mud and her paws were filthy. Her white chest patch was no longer white and mud dripped off her fur. Naughty Bugg.

A Day in the Garden

Now that the weather is getting warmer (hopefully not too warm...us short snouted Buggs have a tough time with extreme heat!) we can really enjoy our backyard. Molly has recently discovered the fountain. I never really got into that thing, but man, she just gets right up in there. As for me, I am more of a smelling the flowers type of Bugg. If only I could convince Molly to stop digging the flowers out!

Buggs for Books

Hey Readers - its me Molly - shh, don't tell Bugsy, I'm stealing the computer to update our dlog.
I'm getting older now as you can see, so Bugsy's been teaching me to read. In this picture to the right you can see I'm reading. I'm actually reading under my parents bed late at night with my flashlight. I've been reading Cesar Milan books, because my Mom says I'm misbehaved. I guess he whispers to dogs or something.

I just like to nibble on things around the house, I don't mean any harm...I swear. I'm trying to get better - but maybe its justs because I'm still young, I'm only 6 months old by the way.

Oh I don't think Bugsy told you all, but I was spayed about a week ago. My Daddy dropped me off at the vet, and the next thing I know I had a pain in my stomach and big incision about an inch and a half long. I'm recovering quite nicely, but the area where they shaved me sure is itchy now on my stomach.

Anyway, I gotta finish my Cesar Milan book so I learn how to be more well-behaved. Bye now.

How many dogs use a dry cleaning service?

That's right, for those of you who know me, you know I like to look stylish. And sometimes my wardrobe just doesn't look as crisp coming out of the washer (thanks Mom!) So, the other day, I snuck one of my favorite tees into my mom and dad's dry cleaning. Ha ha, I'm so clever. I plan to continue using this service. People have come to depend on me for my keen fashion sense, after all.

Luck O' the Irish!!

You know what I love about St. Patty's Day....corned beef...yum! Make sure you wear your green so you don't get pinched. I know I will!

Mommy's little helper

Molly has become quite the little helper around the house, in fact, she just loves loading the dishes into dishwasher. Of course, she probably causes more trouble around the house then she helps. If there is a napkin on a table, she will grab it and mom will find it shredded all over the place. Plants. Remote controls, soda cans. Nothing is safe.

Not yet the top of the class

We Buggs need our rest...it's tough work to be a star pupil. Molly and I are taking an obedience class at Petsmart on Sundays. There are a lot of cool cats (meaning dogs) in my class--a boxer, bulldog, Chihuahua, pit bull, some kind of herding dog and a pug (looks just like a baby Chelsea). It's going to be some pretty tough competition.

Of course, the first class, I was used as the demonstration. We did a "watch me" command and I nailed it! Come on, I need a challenge. Molly is getting better too. We mastered "sit" last week, but we have some serious work to do on our short leash walking. I mean, I've been using one of those retractable leashes for so long now, it's tough to just switch on command. It's my mom and dad's fault.

I got a negative referral last weekend for my bad behavior. I don't know what got into me. I just couldn't stop talking during class. First, that herding dog was barking, so I had to bark back. And then I had my eye on that sweet Pug, so I had to make my move. I guess I need to work on my citizenship grades too!! Sorry mom...

Fun With Food

Of course, I would rather have my mom and dad here with us during the day, but I'll take the next best thing...food! My parents try to give us fun and interesting food to keep us occupied throughout the day (I think they just don't want Molly to dig up the backyard!) It only works half the time, but man, are these treats ever tasty!! What will they come up with next?

Look at the size of these bones!! Of course, Molly taunted me all day by holding on to both

This was the best treat of all...a long, twisty pig tail...that entertained me for several days

Molly thinks she's pretty smart for figuring out this tricky thing...I'm not so good at it yet
