Buggs in Toyland

My house has become a virtual daycare center. There are toys everywhere. Trucks, balls, musical instruments, puzzles, and my most favorite...stuffed animals! Now Brandon, I have noticed that you don't really have much affection for the stuffed varieties. You never play with them. And it's as if you are taunting me, by grouping them along the bottom of your toy shelves. I mean, what is a Bugg to do?? They are within my grasp. Just moments away from me gutting the stuffing and ripping them to shreds. Now Brandon, I know you are only 18 months, and you haven't yet mastered the art of sharing, but there is no time like the present. I will be happy to dispose of those un-loved stuffed animals and make more room for your beloved trucks (which incidentally, I also love to destroy!) Scratch my back and I will scratch yours. No really, I could use a back scratch!

Nurse Bugsy

My little brother Brandon has been really sick this week. Ironically, he's sick with the stomach bug--I resent that implication!!! He's been vomiting and all he wants to do is rest and cuddle. No complaints here. I make sure to stick close, just in case he needs anything from me. Sometimes I even sit ON him, just so he's sure to know that I care. I hate to see him sick. I mean, when I have a stomach ache, I just eat some grass. But, Brandon doesn't seem to want to eat anything. Except for an occasional cracker, which I am happy to share every once in a while. Poor sick puppy...

Going to Grandma's

My mom, dad, and brother went to Texas over the long weekend, so Molly and I went to Grandma's house. Exploring the hill in the backyard, gazing over the pool, cuddling with grandma and watching TV with my grandpa...not a bad way to spend a weekend
Caught red handed...I was digging!!

Puppy Bowl

Brandon threw a party today for his toddler friends (and their parents) to watch the Super Bowl. As usual, we were sequestered to our own room, so we couldn't be a part of the party. On any other day, I would be really mad, but today, Molly and I had the Puppy Bowl to keep us entertained. I have to say, I was rather pleased to see a Pug mix "Booda", who happened to look a lot like me when I was a wee Bugg. I would have dominated that game, particularly with all my agility training. But alas, I am no longer a puppy...more of a Hall of Famer.

Wanna go for walk?

Nothing garners a bigger head tilt than the beloved phrase "Wanna go for walk?" My dad takes us every morning before the family leaves for the day. Then Molly and I hang out in the house, just counting down the minutes until they return home. My mom and Brandon return home first. Brandon rushes over to grab our leashes and Molly and I run around in total excitement. Once our leashes are on, Brandon buckles into his car and off we go! Nothing better than a long walk around the neighborhood so I can remind the other canines in the hood who's boss!

Molly waiting patiently (yeah right)

Don't forget the door B!

Total Baby Takeover

Okay, I thought it was bad that our entire house was inundated with baby stuff, but now it's crept its way to the backyard. That has ALWAYS been Bugg territory. I did not agree to this. Although, I secretly admit that these news things look kind of fun.

Unusually hot

Man, we buggs were not prepared for this heat wave. We forgot to ask mom to fill up our dog pool. We forgot to request cold water in our bowls. We mostly stayed inside today. Of course, we went out for a little sunning, but mostly we sought refuge from the sun. The best part about this weather....ICE CUBES!

Can you teach an old baby new tricks?

Brandon likes to eat his snacks off the coffee table. He walks around the perimeter and makes his way back around to eat another. Ordinarily, he is pretty good about sharing his snacks...one for you, one for you, one for me. But he has been so darn distracted lately, playing with his new toys from Santa. I had to go ahead and help myself this time. Looks like I'll have to get Brandon back to some obedience training.
